A fun (and slightly spooky) treat for Halloween
Halloween is the perfect excuse for some kitchen mischief, and these Spider Web Peanut Butter Cups hit the mark. Made with Bennetto Organic 70% Dark Chocolate and filled with creamy peanut butter, they’re indulgent, fun, and just a little spooky.
The end result? Mini peanut butter cups that are almost too cute to eat. The great thing about these is whilst you can make them for hallowee, you can also make them at any time of the year, without the spider web.
Ingredients
Chocolate Cups
-
2 blocks Bennetto Organic 70% Dark Chocolate (160g)
-
¼ cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
-
10 mini muffin cups
White Chocolate Spider Web
-
2 Tbsp maple syrup
-
1 Tbsp raw cashew butter (room temperature)
-
2 Tbsp melted coconut oil
-
Pinch of sea salt
Method
Chocolate Cups
-
Melt the dark chocolate over a double boiler until smooth, then let it cool slightly.
-
Pipe chocolate into the mini muffin cups, coating the sides and base. Chill for 20 minutes.
-
Keep remaining chocolate warm and runny by sealing it in a ziplock bag and wrapping in a tea towel or placing over the double boiler.
-
Spoon 1 tsp of peanut butter into each hardened chocolate cup, keeping it below the rim.
- Prep the spider web mix by mixing the maple syrup, cashew butter, coconut oil, and salt until smooth. Place in a ziplock bag and set aside.
Spider Web Decoration
This next part can be tricky! It’s best to focus on one cup at a time. Having a helper pipe the spirals or hold cups can make it easier.
6. Cover the peanut butter layer with warm, runny dark chocolate.
7. Pipe a spiral of the white chocolate mixture from the centre outward.
9. Drag a toothpick from the centre to the outside about 8 times to create the spider web pattern.
10. Repeat for all cups.
11. Chill in the fridge until set, about 20 minutes.
Storage
Store any extras in the fridge. They’ll stay delicious and ready to enjoy for several days.
