Stock Update, 1 April 2026 

We thought it was time for an update. Some of you may have already noticed that we are out of stock on our website for some of our flavours (including much loved 82% and Raspberry). We wanted to be transparent with you and update you on why this is happening.

Those of you who know about the cocoa crisis will be aware of its impact on the price of chocolate and those within the cocoa supply chains. Here at Bennetto, we source Organic cocoa, as opposed to conventional cocoa. Conventional cocoa’s price is starting to come back down again, but Organic cocoa is remaining high. As a small, values-led business, we've been doing everything we can to absorb those costs rather than pass them on to you in the form of a significant price increase. This has meant making some tough calls on our end, including producing in smaller volumes and ordering more conservatively than we normally would.

The upside of this approach is that we've been able to keep Bennetto on shelves and in your hands. The downside is that producing in smaller runs means we occasionally run out before we can restock, and right now that's caught up with us.

The good news is that we’re starting to see some positive movement. Despite freight costs going up, we are cautiously optimistic that this period will be behind us soon.

You may be thinking, well, when will I be able to get my hands back on your chocolate? Here's our current estimate on when we will have our full range back in stock. 

• Australian customers: full stock back mid-May

• New Zealand customers: full stock back mid-June

In the meantime, here's what you can do:

• We’ve heard your wishes and have added back-in-stock notifications to our NZ and AU websites. Check these out here, so you'll be the first to know when your favourite is available again.

• Check your local retailers, including Woolworths, New World, and your nearest health food store, as some flavours may still be available in certain locations.

• Try a new flavour! If your usual is out of stock, this might be the moment to discover a new favourite in the range.

While this has been a challenging period, it’s also been one of growth behind the scenes. We’ve been working hard to bring back consistent stock supply across all flavours, while also working on some exciting new products that we can’t wait to share with you.
